I've been waiting for this for so long

I've just been seeing the words of so many really good-hearted Clinton supporters and I just wanted to express an idea that came to me when I read them.

I've been waiting for this day for a long time.  I've been calling from home and from phonebanks.  I first knocked on doors in Studio City, CA in June 2007 and I've been working for it since.  But now that we're here, I don't want to celebrate.  I've been waiting for this day for what seems like forever, but I'm not going to celebrate.  I will hold my celebration for November in deference to the Clinton supporters who have done so much for such an equally talented candidate.

Hillary Clinton has been a public servant for 35 years.  Her life has been service to her country.  Even when she was a corporate lawyer, she was in charge of the Office of Legal Services.  And during that time she was serving in all types of ways developing actual policy that helped the people of Arkansas and America.  There is no doubt that in one or another every single person on this blog and in this country has been had their lives improved by her service to our country.  And she has been nothing, but abused for all her work.  While Bill got the adulation, Hillary got the scorn.  And it was unfair, sexist and inappropriate.  I know how great she is, because I've worked for her candidacy for the Senate.

I also know that we are not done yet.  We have 5 months to demonstrate that McCain cannot be president.  So for that, I hope that we will hold our celebration until we can all celebrate together.

I also really like the diaries of those who have after such a heartfelt dedication to such an excellent public servant to remain there after this contest.  Even if she or they are still advocating for her candidacy. I hope they stay on the top of the Rec List.

nice diary.

thank you for recognizing her outstanding service.  She truly is a great public servant - something that has been not really taken seriously in this campaign  or stressed enough in the media.

She's not a racist... (none / 0)

And's that's not the first time I've said that.  I TR and hide anybody who has asserted that.

Her public service should be praised from the (none / 0)

switching 180 degrees from blaming her for every bad thing in the world to praising her only shows the depths some types will go to win.

Stop imputing on me other people's actions and... (none / 0)

motives.  All I said that was negative was that Alegre and Pacific John were asserting falsehoods in calling Obama a criminal with regards to the Texas caucus.  I've criticized her, but only for some campaign tactics to which I took excpetion.

sorry, you jerks have abused to many people too often for me to make nice with the likes of you McBloggers. supporting BHO was never the issue, letting jerks lie and spin and act rovian turns my stomach.

You say this b/c she TR'd you... (none / 0)

Man, you're an egomaniac.  Obviously if she TR'd she can't believe in Democratic values and policies.  Find yourself a nice bridge to live under, because if you maintain your attitude she will not be the only person TR'ing you.

It's an idea... (none / 0)

I'm not completely opposed to it, I just don't understand how it would work for governing and campaigning, but if people can overcome those concerns for me I'll endorse the idea 100%.

Thanks CG... (2.00 / 1)

I would say the same to you in reverse.  I hope that you will keep on speaking out against the sexist treatment against all our Democrats, but especially against those who still abuse Hillary Clinton as they have for two decades.
